Bharatanatyam Vanki & Bajuband

Collection: Bharatanatyam Vanki & Bajuband

When a dancer lifts her arm to depict a lotus or a flag, the eye is drawn to the grace of the limb. At Golden Collections, we craft the essential **Vanki (Armlet)** that accentuates this line. Symbolizing strength and beauty, our arm ornaments are a non-negotiable part of the Shodasha Upachara (16 adornments) for both the classical dancer and the South Indian bride.

The Shape of Tradition

Our Secunderabad atelier specializes in the two distinct styles required for authentic Alankaram:

  • The Vanki (V-Shape): The classic inverted-V design, often featuring the motif of Gajalakshmi or the serpent (Nagar). Its unique structure allows it to grip the arm firmly without sliding during vigorous movement.
  • The Baju Band (Flexible): An intricate chain-link armlet that wraps around the arm, offering a softer, more adjustable fit preferred for certain costumes and lighter wear.

A Heritage of Many Names

Whether you call it **Araivanki (Tamil)**, **Vanki (Telugu/Kannada)**, or **Baju Band (Hindi)**, our collection honours the diverse linguistic heritage of the Deccan. Handcrafted with real **Kemp stones**, pearls, and antique gold plating, these pieces are designed to be heirlooms—passed down from Guru to Shishya, or Mother to Daughter.
